Rhode Island Food Handler Certification Course Online My Food Service License

My Food Service License provides online food handler training. Food handler training is optional in most areas of Rhode Island and this course provides excellent food worker training to teach the important principles of food safety to food handlers. Your local regulatory agency may have additional requirements. Please contact your local regulatory agency for more information. 

A food handler is defined by law as a person who works in a food facility and performs any duties that involve the preparation, storage or service of food in a food facility. This program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) against the ASTM standard.

This training is a general food handler course. 


This course takes approximately one hour to complete and, upon successful completion, provides a printable food handler certificate. This certificate is good for up to five years. 

This course is not to prepare workers to take the Food Protection Manager  certification exam. The course to study for the certification exam is the Food Protection Manager Certification Course.

Exam is given at the end of the course and a proctor is not required.

Course is available in English and Spanish, 


The My Food Service License Rhode Island Certified Food Protection Manager course provides food safety training,exams and educational materials to foodservice managers. Students will earn the nationally accredited International Certified Food Protection Manager Certification issued by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals upon passing the proctored exam with a score of 75% or higher. Our certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-Conference for Food Protection (CFP).

The program blends the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research and years of food sanitation training experience. Managers learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety. All content and materials are based on actual job tasks identified by foodservice industry experts.

The My Food Service License Rhode Island Certified Food Protection Manager course is self-paced and allows students the ability to start and stop throughout the course.  Hours of video, text and interactive quizzes and puzzles allow students with to learn through various learning styles.

State Requirements: Shall employ at least one certified full time, on-site manager who is at least 18 years of age. Establishments with 10 or more full-time employees must have at least 2 certified managers.

Food Protection Manager
Required.

Food Handlers: Recommended but not required. 

Exceptions: None.

Manager Training Hours: Specific training regulations - 15 hours.

Food Handler Course: Recommended but not required. 

Food Manager Certification and Food Handler Certificate Renewal: Food Manager every 5 years; Food Handler every 5 years.
